Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC)

Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Planning

  • State grant application oversight
  • Charging facility feasibility studies and business cases
  • Project management support

As the City of Orlando’s utility partner, OUC supports the city’s goal to deliver 100% renewable power by 2050. OUC strategic goals align with the city’s and will achieve net-zero emissions.

OUC engaged ecoPreserve to conduct feasibility studies for fleet electrifications and assist in planning the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI). The consulting team prepared an emergency evacuation route study resulting in the reward of $500,000 Florida funding grant.

OUC has further utilized the business case studies to develop support electrification efforts at Orange County Public Schools and the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. Today, ecoPreserve team members are consulting in the design and construction phases of the downtown EVCI hub. The 22 high-speed level 3 charging stations at that hub will efficiently serve travelers along the I-4 corridor.
