GOAA Maintenance Administration Building – LEED O+M Certification

  • Facilitated credit compliance for LEED Operations and Maintenance (O+M) certification

In approving its Sustainability Management Plan in 2013, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority documented specific goals for operating its facilities sustainably, with future generations in mind.

The LEED certifications GOAA has earned and maintains are consistent with those goals.

ecoPreserve assisted GOAA in identifying and documenting the environmental best practices at the Maintanance Administration Building. That documentation was submitted to LEED certification, which was then awarded.

More recently, ecoPreserve has supported recertification and the capture of ongoing performance data.

While LEED certification has been achieved and maintained, significant operational benefits have accrued for the Maintenance Administration Building:

  • Upgrades to Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, lighting, and windows have reduced the building’s energy consumption 20% since 2015.
  • Low-flow faucets and fixtures reduced water consumption by 10% in the first three months of operation.
  • Recycling and reuse programs have diverted 40% building waste that otherwise would have gone to a landfill.
